New Spyder GigE Line Scan Camera Boasts 3x Responsivity, 2x Speed Of Predecessor

Spyder GigE offers Three times more responsivity, twice the speed and a Gigabit Ethernet interface with GUI
DALSA announced that it will demonstrate its eagerly awaited "Spyder GigE" line scan camera at the upcoming Vision 2005 Show in Stuttgart, Germany, November 8-10. Boasting 3x the responsivity and twice the speed of its predecessor, this latest Spyder offers Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in a compact and affordable solution for high-speed web, flat panel display, pick-and-place, and other general machine vision applications. Gigabit Ethernet provides customers with the opportunity to exchange imaging and control data with PCs over significantly longer distances with superior networking capabilities, processing flexibility and ease of use.
DALSA's own advanced sensor technology is the essence of Spyder GigE's exceptional responsivity. Available in 1k and 2k resolutions with 14 micron pixel pitch, Spyder GigE provides excellent defect detection and significant cost savings in lighting. With speeds up to 80MHz, Spyder GigE improves system throughput. DALSA's new "QuickCam" GUI provides easy access to all of the camera's features. This product development confirms DALSA's commitment to innovation in line scan technology. Evaluation cameras are available now.
The Gigabit Ethernet interface ushers in a new era for line scan imaging that eliminates the need for a framegrabber and lowers system costs. Delivering data rates of up to 1 Gigabit per second, GigE connectivity allows for fast and efficient data transfer. With common CAT5e cabling, GigE offer superior reach, supporting point-to-point connections of up to 100 meters. LAN switches enable the benefits of multiple processing and further reach can be accomplished over fiber cabling.
"We pride ourselves on giving our customers the next innovation in imaging technology. This is a powerful camera with exceptionally high responsivity and uncompromised dynamic range," stated David Cochrane, Director Product Management and Marketing, Vision for Machines. "Equipping the camera with a GigE interface establishes DALSA as a major player in this evolving interface technology space. Spyder GigE is yet another DALSA innovation that helps customers to drastically reduce their costs, thereby positively impacting their bottom line."
Spyder GigE also offers advanced programmability for precise control of gain, offset and bit depth. The camera includes unique features such as flat field correction and correlated double sampling, features that are more common to scientific-grade cameras.
