The Laser Systems Business Unit of JenoptikĀ“s Lasers and Material Processing division will showcase its JenLas disk IR50 for MWT and EWT (Metall Wrap Through and Emitter Wrap Through) at Photonics West 2010. The laser combines perfect beam quality in the infrared wavelength range at 1030 nm with a flexible tunable pulse length. Consequently, the 45-watt system is ideal for the laser drilling of silicon wafers, which then allow the efficient production of backcontact solar cells.

The company will also present a range of diode lasers, high power fiber lasers and diodepumped-solid-state lasers for OEM and R&D customers for different applications.

Target applications in material processing are marking, deep engraving, ablating, structuring, cutting and drilling for electronics, semiconductor, automotive, photovoltaics and packaging markets. Life science lasers for ophthalmology and dermatology and lasers for show & entertainment will be introduce too.
