New Pyroelectric Detector DSV-7341: Detectivity Meets Stability

Source: InfraTec Infrared LLC

InfraTecs PYRONEER series includes detectors with the pyroelectrically sensitive material DLaTGS (deuterated L-alanine doped triglycine sulphate). At modulation frequencies in the kHz range, the material achieves up to three times higher detectivity compared to lithium tantalate. This makes the DLaTGS detectors the gold standard for use in Fourier transform infrared spectrometers (FTIR). However, the higher detectivity requires a better thermal stabilization of the detector. InfraTecs coming soon DSV-7341 detector overcomes this challenge with an innovative technique. The combination of an integrated thermo-electric cooler (TEC) and a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor enable the user to monitor the temperature of the chip, regulate the TEC and thus temper the chip. This compensates not only for environmental thermal influences but also for varying radiation levels on the detector, e. g. between background and sample measurement.
