New Industrial Diode Lasers Offer Higher Power & Longer Lifetime

Coherent Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) (Nasdaq: COHR) announces new, higher power, higher brightness 780-830 nm and 975 nm diode laser components for industrial applications.  Leveraging Coherent’s vertically integrated semiconductor manufacturing line, these products achieve new benchmarks in performance while ensuring the superior batch-to-batch consistency and overall quality that is demanded by industrial OEMs.

At 780-830 nm, Coherent’s unique proprietary AAA™ technology has been extended to now include 60W and 80W low fill factor bars – as well as a new 70W 800 µm-core fiber array package (FAP) – all qualified to >20k hours lifetime.  At 975nm, Coherent offers new high-efficiency 60W, 100W, and 150W low fill factor bars, also qualified to >20k hours lifetime.  At both wavelengths, these low fill factor bars are ideal for fiber coupling and optical beam combining, enabling high-brightness beam delivery for applications such as the pumping of solid state and fiber lasers, as well as direct diode materials processing, including metal welding, cladding and heat treating.
