We’re thrilled to share our latest featured article in Spectroscopy, co-authored by our HÜBNER Photonics product manager, Elena Vasileva.

Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) imaging is transforming elemental and mineralogical analysis within samples. Traditionally, LIBS analysis has used lasers with a 10-100 Hz repetition rate, often resulting in lengthy acquisition times. But what if we could achieve high-resolution imaging in a fraction of the time?

This research showcases a breakthrough µ-LIBS imaging microscope that can deliver an impressive 10 µm resolution in less than 20 minutes per cm², capturing detailed elemental distribution like never before.

LIBS imaging is advancing rapidly, and we’re excited to lead this journey forward! This technology opens up vast opportunities across fields like biomedical and geological analysis and even industrial applications like mining.
