New CW Green Laser Designed To Deliver Optimum Price/Performance For OEMs

coherent

Santa Clara, CA — The new low-power, CW Compass 115M-15 green laser from Coherent, Inc. is designed for price-sensitive, high-performance OEM applications. It is of the newest addition to the company's Compass 115M diode-pumped, solid-state laser series, which offers output powers of 5, 10 or 15 mW at 532 nm, and provides excellent beam characteristics in terms of mode quality (M² <1.2), power stability and noise (<0.5% rms). These Compass lasers also offer long lifetime (>20,000 hrs.) and high unit-to-unit consistency, making them an ideal choice for demanding applications in bioinstrumentation — including flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, genetic screening, drug discovery and biohazard detection — as well as in graphic arts, inspection and metrology.

These compact Compass 115M lasers are specifically designed for easy integration by OEMs. For example, they operate from a 5V power source, feature conductive cooling, and can be controlled and monitored through either an analog or digital interface. An Autostart function allows direct system start and operation without any user-supplied control signals. These new Compass 115M lasers also feature an opto-mechanical design that is optimized for high-volume, low-cost production.
