One of the key parameters for understanding how a laser will perform in an application is the spatial intensity distribution. In many industial laser cutting or welding applications, monitoring the beam quality is critical for successful operation. The measurement of the beam can either be made during the design stage of the laser, or it might be more sufficient for continuous real-time monitoring during the laser’s operation.
