1280JSX-10µm VIS/SWIR Digital Video Camera Datasheet

The Sensors Unlimited 1280JSX-10µm VIS/SWIR digital video camera, developed by Raytheon’s RTX Business unit, is a next-generation high-definition imaging solution optimized for covert surveillance and low-light applications.

Featuring a 1.3-megapixel indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) sensor, it delivers real-time imaging across an extended wavelength range of 0.5 to 1.7 microns, covering both visible and shortwave infrared (SWIR) spectra.

The camera incorporates a 1280 × 1024 pixel format with a 10 µm pixel pitch. The new design achieves a 36% reduction in active imaging area compared to previous models, enabling the use of smaller, lighter, and more cost-effective optics, without any sacrifice in optical performance thanks to its 100% pixel fill factor. This reduction benefits portability and integration into compact systems while maintaining high sensitivity.

Performance highlights include full 100% duty cycle capability over the entire illumination intensity range, excellent low-light performance from partial moonlight to daylight conditions, and power consumption of less than 3 W at 20°C, enhancing operational efficiency in the field. The camera also supports windowing, binning, and in-field offset corrections for flexible imaging configurations and seamless adaptation to varying operational needs.

With its robust performance in low-light and high-contrast environments, broad wavelength coverage, and reduced optical footprint, the 1280JSX-10µm is well-suited for defense, security, and intelligence imaging roles.
