Jenoptik's Lasers & Material Processing Division Has Received A Major Order Of Around 16 Million US Dollars

Following the major traffic safety order announced at the beginning of March, Jenoptik has received another major order. Jenoptik's Lasers & Material Processing division will deliver lasers for medical use to a US based client. The order covers a period of three years and has a total volume of 16 million US Dollars (just under 12 million euros).

Since 1999 the lasers for medical use have been produced in series at the Jena production site. Today approximately 2,200 lasers are manufactured every year. More than 10,000 of these lasers are used worldwide. They are continuously improved by Jenoptik. Areas of application for medical lasers are the fields of ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery and urology.

Jenoptik is one of the few suppliers worldwide with the capability to produce high volumes of complex lasers and laser systems that achieve the high quality levels and process reliability required for medical applications.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) Jenoptik will publish the Group's complete financial statements and provide an outlook for the current fiscal year as well as the future development of the Group.
