Integrated Microwave Technologies, LLC (IMT) Brings Mission-Critical Surveillance Solution To MAG Market

IMT DropCam & MobilCMDR

DTx Digital COFDM Portable Transmitter and MobilCMDR Receiver/Monitor Ideal for Body-Worn, Surveillance, Drop-Camera and Canine Video Transmission Applications

Integrated Microwave Technologies, LLC (IMT), a Business Unit within the Vitec Group’s Videocom Division, and a leader in advanced digital microwave systems for MAG (Military, Aerospace & Government) markets, introduces a portable, turnkey surveillance solution featuring the DTx drop-down tactical camera transmitter and MobilCMDR receiver.

IMT’s DTx is a self-contained, rapid-deployment, drop-camera transmitter system incorporating the company’s VSTx COFDM transmitter with a rechargeable battery, camera, infrared LED and microphone in a compact, rugged chassis. This convenient package makes the DTx an ideal solution for rapid deployment and tactical surveillance scenarios. The low-light camera is combined with a light-level, sensor-controlled infrared LED, enabling surveillance from any range, in all light conditions. The camera head can be removed and positioned separately using the four-foot camera cable, enabling more discreet concealment of the camera.

“The DTx uses COFDM digital RF transmission to ensure superior non-line-of-sight performance in buildings, culverts and urban environments,” says IMT Divisional Chief Executive Stephen Shpock. “This level of performance is unattainable with conventional analog or 802.11 (WiFi) products.”

DTx’s small size makes it an especially handy drop-camera application for unmanned vehicles (UVs). Users can employ UVs to place DTx in strategic locations to improve situational awareness. Its swivel camera is on a retractable tether, enabling a covert placement mode. The DTx helps users covertly or overtly patrol audio and video in danger zones, even at night.

Designed for ease of operation, the DTx allows operators to select between 16 preset channels by pressing a single button. Configuration of the presets is achieved using the USB control interface and PC software provided. The DTx battery can power the transmitter for up to four hours, and can be recharged in three hours using the AC adaptor provided in the kit. Transmission security is ensured through the use of optional AES (BCRYPT) encryption.

In addition, the DTx can be fitted with the canine accessory, built to meet the unique requirements of Special Forces or Border Security dogs. The accessory is made from high-strength, lightweight plastics designed to resist extreme environmental stresses.

“The DTx is excellent for such mission types as rapid tactical surveillance, urban warfare and room clearance, as well as inspection of remote locations such as pipes, basements, attics and small robotics platforms,” says Sean Drew, IMT business development manager for law enforcement applications. “When used with IMT's MobilCMDR receiver, it presents an easy-to-use turnkey solution.”

The MobilCMDR (C-COFDM M-Mobile D-Diversity R-Receiver) is a ruggedized COFDM (DVB-T-compliant) dual-diversity handheld receiver/monitor. It offers exceptional RF performance and durability, combined with true ease of operation and superb H.264 decoding. The unit displays received video images on a built-in, eight-inch-class high-brightness display. The display also features a simple-to-use menu-driven interface. The MobilCMDR is available with AES decryption capabilities for applications requiring it.

The unit includes a wide array of video input and output formats, including ASI and HD/SD SDI. Its milled aluminum chassis and ergonomic hand grips are weather resistant. Much more than a COFDM handheld receiver, the MobilCMDR can send video over Ethernet to remote software or hardware decoders, allowing multiple remote viewers to monitor the same video simultaneously. All of these features provide an unequaled value in a high-quality COFDM receiver/monitor.
