Sarnoff Corp.'s modular IR Engine Plus infrared subsystem delivers up to 640 x 480 resolution with no masking or aliasing, allowing it to capture instantaneous events.

The subsystem, which is compatible with most lens types, can be integrated into systems that require IR image detection and processing, and is available in standard or custom configurations. It is designed for incorporation into systems used in search and rescue missions, surveillance and other aerial applications, non-destructive testing, and failure analysis.

The IR Engine Plus subsystem consists of three modules: a staring focal plane array (FPA) IR Engine unit (the camera) that can be operated independently; camera electronics; and digital video processor electronics.

The IR Engine and camera electronics modules can be operated independently of the digital video processor. The digital video processor module supplements the basic capabilities of the IR Engine by adding pixel substitution, gain and offset correction, gain and integration time control, remote operation and background normalization.
