II-VI Wins NASA Contract for Radiation Detectors

II-VI Incorporatedarded the eV Products division of optical manufacturer <%=company%> (Saxonburg, PA) a $700,000 contract award to manufacture 22,000 cadmium zinc telluride (CdZnTe) radiation detectors to be installed in the new SWIFT research satellite. NASA may award additional quantities of 18,000 and 5,000 detectors following completion of the initial contract.

The company's eV PRODUCTS division manufactures and markets solid-state x-ray and gamma-ray detector products for the nuclear radiation detection industry. The current NASA contract is one of many applications for CdZnTe materials fueling the rapid growth of this division.''

II-VI also reported that the earnings release for the quarter ended March 31, 2000 is scheduled for Monday, April 17, 2000 after the market closes.
