640HSX2 InGaAs Digital Video Camera

The Sensors Unlimited 640HSX2 is a second-generation, high-performance InGaAs digital video camera from Raytheon’s RTX business unit.
Designed for both daylight and extremely low-light environments, it delivers real-time imaging in the short-wave infrared (SWIR) spectrum, with coverage from 0.9 to 1.7 microns, and an NIR/SWIR option from 0.7 to 1.7 microns.
Its 640 × 512 pixel resolution, combined with a large 25 µm pixel pitch, ensures maximum photon capture for exceptional sensitivity, making it ideal for demanding applications such as persistent surveillance, laser detection, and imaging through obscurants like dust and smoke. The camera integrates proprietary dynamic-range enhancement technology and built-in corrections to optimize urban night imaging, preventing blooming and preserving details in high-contrast scenes.
One of its standout features is its ultra-fast frame rate, enabling effective imaging of rapid events and dynamic environments. Sensitivity extends from partial starlight to full sunlight, supporting both covert night operations and daytime missions. The camera also includes selectable contrast enhancement modes for operator adaptability.
Operational efficiency is supported by low power consumption—less than 3.6 W at 40°C—allowing integration into portable, battery-powered, and vehicle-mounted systems. The rugged, compact design ensures compatibility with a variety of platforms and mission requirements.
Now available for RFQ, the 640HSX2 is suited for defense, security, and intelligence imaging applications that demand high sensitivity, speed, and reliability across a wide range of lighting conditions.
