How To Set Koehler Illumination
Source: SPOT Imaging Solutions, a division of Diagnostic Instruments
Koehler illumination ensures the best possible resolution and contrast in brightfield microscopy applications by providing control over light rays. It’s important in phase contrast, varel contrast, Hoffman modulation, PlasDIC, and DIC implementation. Before a user is able to take advantage of the benefits of this type of illumination technique though, the microscope needs to be aligned. This application note provides a step-by-step process on how to align a microscope’s Koehler illumination to achieve the best possible results.
