HORIBA Introduces Compact Sspectrometer Platform Optimized For Hyperspectral Imaging

Industrial-ready spectrometer delivers high throughput and low optical distortion

HORIBA, a global leader in analytical and measurement technology, has developed the PoliSpectra® 27, a compact, lightweight industrial spectrometer platform designed to support high-volume manufacturing and integration into hyperspectral imaging systems.

The PoliSpectra 27 combines high optical throughput with low stray light, enabling precise and reliable spectral measurements in demanding environments. It is factory configurable and optimized for hyperspectral line-scanning (push-broom) applications, where it simultaneously collects full spectral data across the height of the input slit. This capability supports real-time inspection, monitoring and metrology applications that require consistent spectral and spatial performance.

The spectrometer demonstrates strong optical performance, including excellent peak symmetry and minimal geometric distortion. Measured keystone and smile are each below 15 µm, supporting accurate spatial-spectral alignment in hyperspectral imaging systems.

Key features of the PoliSpectra 27 include:

  • Small, compact and lightweight design (2 x 3.5 x 2 inches, 1.5 lbs)
  • Designed for industrial volume manufacturing
  • High throughput with low stray light
  • Excellent peak symmetry
  • Keystone and smile distortion below 15 µm

Designed for flexibility, the PoliSpectra 27 is available in multiple configurations to address a wide range of application requirements, including VIS and VIS-NIR spectral ranges and C-mount, F-mount, bare-slit or custom input options.

The PoliSpectra 27 is adaptable for a variety of applications, including:

  • Hyperspectral line imaging
  • Industrial inspection and metrology
  • Process monitoring
  • Aerial reconnaissance
  • Agricultural inspection

“The PoliSpectra 27 expands HORIBA’s spectrometer portfolio with a scalable, industrial-ready platform for hyperspectral imaging system,” said Nicolas Vezard, VP of Optical Solutions & Industrial Spectrometers for OEM. This offers developers compact form factors without compromising optical performance.”
