Image cytometry is a measurement technique that combines microfluidics and imaging techniques to rapidly characterize individual cells in a population. Its advantage is that the traits of individual cells can be rapidly characterized, quantified and analyzed, which is otherwise impossible using traditional techniques that feature macroscale approaches based on cell population averaging.
