High-Speed Polarization Cameras: CRYSTA Systems
Recent developments in robotics, clear film production, and new materials testing technologies have raised the demand for using polarization in structural dynamics and high-speed object detection. Since conventional high-speed cameras lack any polarization sensitivity, Photron has developed the new CRYSTA high-speed camera system with polarization sensitivity.
The high-speed polarization image sensor was designed and developed by combining a photonic-crystal polarizer array and a high-speed image sensor or area sensor. The CRYSTA series comprises two models that utilize linear polarizers, and one has the added feature of a phase shifter. Customization options are available for operational wavelength ranges and polarization structures.
