Gradient Index Lenses

N/Aradient index lenses are available in crown glass. Gradium crown glass is available as finished lenses with diameters ranging from 1 mm to 100 mm. One family of the new crown lenses, the Titania group, is 40 percent lighter than any previous Gradium lens. The company has also released the BiAxial lens, consisting of two fused pieces of geometrically matched Gradium axial glass. The lens allows light to enter from "off-normal", or oblique, angles and still be transported straight down the glass to the desired spot. Applications include solar energy collectors and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) components.
