At Gentec-EO, we are committed to investing for the future, consequently investing in our partners’ and customers’ future as well.  We strive at ensuring continuous process and work organization optimization that will benefit and support our valued partners.

True to this philosophy, Gentec-EO is proud to announce its recent expansion amounting to 60% increase in work space area of its headquarters facilities in Quebec City, Canada. This enables us to meet the growing demand in the recent years for our laser beam measurement solutions and to provide the most efficient and cost-effective services possible.  Started before the onset of the pandemic in Canada, the expansion was completed in August of this year.

“We are very pleased to invest human and financial resources to better meet the needs of our customers by expanding our capacity for both R&D infrastructure and manufacturing laser beam measurement instruments. The investment of $ 1 million in these new facilities which also comprises the purchase of specialized equipment provides us with the essential ingredients for our continued growth” said Michel Giroux, CEO of Gentec-EO.

The previous expansion, dating back only 3 years, was fueled by investment in new state-of-the-art production equipment and increasing our laser calibration laboratories. But it was clear that we also needed extra space as well as investments in high-tech equipment in order to achieve our goals. Most of the new space and equipment is dedicated to our R&D department and our production facility.

This increase in space positively impacts our production department by providing significantly augmented capacity and the ability to fulfill any size orders for our customers’ OEM and integration needs.

And the timing of this expansion couldn’t be better. Michel Giroux continued by stating: “The extra floor space allowed us to easily adapt to the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic brought upon us. We were able to reorganize our facilities efficiently to ensure a safe environment for all our personnel without compromising our drive for improved workflows and manufacturing throughput. I am particularly grateful to our operations team, who did an amazing job with this project.” The impact of the pandemic on our sales was temporary and we are amongst the few fortunate organizations back on track with order volumes and delivery. Furthermore, with a growing demand for our products we see a bright future ahead of us for the coming years.

This project is being carried out thanks to the financial support of Quebec City’s Vision entrepreneuriale Québec 2023. Focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, growth, financing and support, the Vision entrepreneuriale Québec 2023 program aims to make Quebec City the capital of entrepreneurship in the country. It brings together financial assistance programs and measures to grow businesses. The Vision benefits from more than $ 75.8 million in funding from the Government of Quebec. Quebec City, the Secrétariat à la Capitale-Nationale and Quebec International act as key partners in spreading the Vision. For more information, visit ville.quebec.qc.ca/financement.

We are proud to have the space needed to take this business to the next level and help more people measure their lasers with Gentec-EO accuracy.
