Galileo Reports Slight Decline in Second Quarter Revenue

Noting a decline in revenue from its Scientific Detector Products business, Galileo Corp. (Sturbridge, MA) reported second quarter fiscal 1999 (ended March 31) sales of $10.8 million, a decline of 5.5% from $11.5 million in the same quarter a year ago. Net income was up 120% to $180,000 ($0.02 per share) compared to a net loss of $896,000 ($0.12 per share).

The Scientific Detector Products Division develops, manufactures, and markets products based on its core optical and photonic technologies primarily for applications in analytical instruments.
