Create sharply detailed thermographic images with compact IR camera module

The radiometric IR camera module PIR uc 605 is designed for universal use and, in combination with the corresponding software IRBIS® 3 from InfraTec, it is a great entry into stationary thermography for research and development. As an OEM module it is predestined for integration into machines, plants and devices for monitoring and measurement tasks aiming at process optimisation and quality assurance, for example in mechanical engineering, the plastics industry or electronics.

With its modern interface concept, the PIR uc 605 allows convenient camera control and data acquisition. An Ethernet interface enables recordings to be saved directly to a PC in real time at image frequencies of up to 25 Hz for further processing. In combination with the control and analysis programs of the IRBIS® 3 software family, PIR uc 605 is a versatile tool. The associated Software Development Kit (SDK) enables rapid integration into existing system environments.

Flexibly configurable

The IR camera module is powered by an uncooled microbolometer FPA detector with (640 × 480) IR pixels, which provides detailed thermal images in high resolution. Each pixel in the image represents a temperature measurement point. Here the infrared camera detects even small temperature differences and is perfect for the analysis of temperature distributions and their changes over time.

The PIR uc 605 can be ideally adapted to the respective measurement task. Various lenses can be configured on the IR module, including a super wide‐angle lens. With a focal length of 5 mm, this lens captures large measurement objects with a single shot when the distance between camera and object is small. Its light weight and the extremely small dimensions of the light metal housing are further aspects. Thus, the camera can be easily installed even within very small installation spaces with simple mounting systems.

About InfraTec

The InfraTec infrared sensor and measurement technology company was founded in 1991 and has its headquarters in Dresden, Germany. The privately held company employs more than 200 employees and has its own design, manufacturing and distribution capabilities.

With its infrared measurement business unit, InfraTec is one of the leading suppliers of commercial thermal imaging technology. In addition to the high‐end camera series ImageIR® and the VarioCAM® High Definition series, InfraTec offers turnkey thermographic automation solutions.

Infrared sensors, with electrically tunable filters based on MOEMS, count among the products of the infrared sensor division, next to spectrally single and multi channel infrared detectors. These detectors can be used in gas analysis, fire and flame sensor technology and spectroscopy.
