First Quarter Proves Strong for Dalsa

DALSA Inc.> (Waterloo, ON) reported revenue for the quarter (ended Mar. 31) of $10.1 million, representing a 39.4% increase over revenues of $7.2 million for the same period in 1999. Prior to the inclusion of amortization of acquisition related costs, consolidated net earnings from operations for the quarter increased to $1.4 million ($0.26 per share), up 28.4% compared to $1.1 million ($0.20 per share) reported in the corresponding period in 1999. The increase in revenue and net earnings from operations is largely a result of the company's own organic growth and the impact of the acquisitions of both Silicon Mountain Design (SMD) in June of 1999 and MedOptics in January of 2000.
