Fiber-Optically Coupled (MM 62.5/125) 2.3‑GHz Deschutes BSI™ Reduced-Noise (R‑APD) Photoreceiver: RIC1‑JJQC
Source: Voxtel, Inc.
Voxtel's RIC1‑JJQC is a fiber-pigtailed near infrared (NIR) photoreceiver incorporating a low-noise transimpedance amplifier (TIA) and a thermoelectrically (TE)-cooled, backside-illuminated (BSI) InGaAs/InAlAs R‑APD with 950–1700 nm response.

Datasheet: Fiber-Optically Coupled (MM 62.5/125) 2.3‑GHz Deschutes BSI™ R‑APD Photoreceiver: RIC1‑JJQC
The RIC1‑JJQC is a fiber-optic pigtailed version of Voxtel's Deschutes BSI™ RIC1‑JJAC photoreceiver, which includes a 75‑µm-diameter VFC1‑JBZA backside-illuminated R‑APD. The receiver achieves >99% optical coupling efficiency using custom high-performance aspheric optics, with broadband AR coatings over the entire NIR spectral region; these efficiently couple the optical output from the fiber to the R‑APD.

The R‑APD is custom-engineered for reduced excess noise, which allows this photoreceiver to achieve high sensitivity and low bit error rates (BERs). A single-stage thermoelectric (TE) cooler is included to eliminate temperature-induced gain variation and allow optimal performance over the range of application environments.
