Explorer 532-2 DPSS Q-Switched Laser

Newport's Spectra-Physics Explorer 532-2 is a high performance DPSS laser. This new model offers high output power in a compact footprint. The Explorer 532-2 laser delivers up to 15 kW of peak power, making it an ideal tool for various scribing applications in thin-film photovoltaics.

Application tests show that the Explorer laser's pulse energy is ideal for scribing P2 and P3 layers in amorphous silicon based solar cells. Compact and rugged, the Explorer fits easily into existing designs, allowing both single or split-beam scribing.

Active acceleration, shock, and life tests demonstrate that the Explorer laser operates reliably while being exposed to acceleration forces of up to 10 g. This peerless level of product durability allows the Explorer to be integrated directly onto moving axes to simplify complex optical layouts and enable lowest cost of ownership.

An integrated sensor provides real-time pulse energy or average power information via analog or software control signals. An active pulse monitoring circuit increases production yield and provide customers with critical laser performance data.

The Explorer laser series is pumped by a fiber coupled single emitter which, for the first time, is integrated into the laser head for simplified installation, added flexibility.
