Edmund Optics Expands Product Line With TECHSPEC NIR Linear Polarizers

Barrington, NJ — Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of optical components and tools, introduces new TECHSPEC® NIR Linear Polarizers. These high-contrast NIR linear polarizers are ideally suited for a multitude of fiber optic and low power laser applications. They provide an extended broadband range, making them an ideal choice for a variety of telecommunication devices such as fiber optic isolators and couplers.

Two NIR wavelength ranges
The polarizers are available in two NIR wavelength ranges, from 750-850 nm and from 1000-2000 nm. Measuring 2.0 + 0.2 mm thick, the polarizers are offered with diameters of 12.5 mm, 25.0 mm, 30 mm and 50 mm in each wavelength range.

Unique design
The TECHSPEC NIR Linear Polarizers feature a unique design consisting of a polymer polarization film sandwiched between two flat pieces of optical quality glass. The polarizers provide a 50 dB extinction ratio for 1310 and 1550 Telecom wavelengths.
