EDAX Releases Enhanced Version Of GENESIS 5.2 Microanalysis Software

Mahwah, NJ — EDAX Inc., a leader in X-ray microanalysis, X-ray fluorescence and electron diffraction instrumentation, has introduced the latest generation of its highly successful GENESIS EDS microanalysis software.

"GENESIS 5.2 software includes such innovative new features as Auto Shape — an automatic collection routine that includes a free drawing capability," explains Del Redfern, Product Marketing Manager for EDAX. "The Auto Shape is an automatic spectrum collection routine that allows the user to select points and/or shapes from an image to collect spectrum. The software saves and labels the spectrum collected from the multiple positions along with their position that is then laid over the image."

"Our GENESIS program is the industry's leading microanalysis software. Many of its newest features and enhancements result from the positive feedback that we have received from current users. This includes the new software interface for our successful Apollo 40 SDD and Apollo 10 SDD silicon drift detectors. The Apollo SDD seamlessly integrates into the range of EDS and WDS detectors that our electronics and software are able to control," notes Redfern.

EDAX is the acknowledged leader in Energy Dispersive Microanalysis, X-ray Fluorescence and Electron BackScatter Diffraction instrumentation. It designs, manufactures, installs and services high-quality products and systems for leading companies in semiconductors, metals, geological, biological, material and ceramics market.

Since it's founding in 1962, EDAX has used its knowledge and experience to develop ultra-sensitive silicon radiation sensors, digital electronics and specialized application software that facilitate solutions to research, development and industrial requirements.
