The Evolution is a water-cooled, diode-pumped solidstate laser that produces more than 10 W of output at repetition rates from 2 to 5 kHz. The system generates 7 mJ per pulse at 1 kHz and features an intracavity noncolinearly phasematched LBO nonlinear crystal to double the output up to 532 nm. The laser is designed to use as a pump source for Ti:sapphire-based amplifiers.
