Dialight, LumiLeds ink marketing deal
LumiLeds Lighting (San Jose, CA) and Dialight Corp. (Manasquan, NJ) have entered into an agreement whereby the two companies will jointly market their complete light-emitting diode (LED) traffic signal product lines in North America. "We are seeking similar partnerships in Europe and Asia to more aggressively promote LED technology on a global basis," said Menko de Roos, Business Unit Manager at LumiLeds.
A joint venture between Agilent Technologies, a subsidiary of Hewlett Packard (the nation's leading LED supplier) and Philips Lighting, LumiLeds is dedicated to developing solid-state lighting solutions. The company recently developed a package of traffic signal incorporating LEDs that generate more than ten times the flux of conventional high-intensity LEDs, as well as a wider viewing angle than earlier LED signals, says LumiLeds. In addition to traffic signals, the company supplies LED lighting for the automotive and signage industries.
Dialight offers red, green, and amber balls in both 8- and 12-in. sizes, plus arrows and pedestrian signals.
