Design of Uniform Window Heating Structures for Electro-Optical Systems

Directly heating windows (and other optics) is often the preferred method for de-ice/de-fog applications because of the better uniformity of the window and the heat transfer efficiency. This is particularly important in terms of wavefront distortion. This white paper is on the use of electrical heating techniques on a window’s surface and the temperature uniformity that the window experiences as a result.
