Cylindrical Optics
Cylindrical optics by IRD Glass are used in a wide array of industries including machine vision, medical, defense/homeland security, industrial tooling, and process control. They’re available in sizes less than 4mm in radii, to greater than 125mm.
There are three main types of cylindrical optics offered by IRD Glass: concave, convex, and rod lenses. Plano-convex lenses are available from micro-optic dimensions to 6” in diameter. They’re regularly manufactured with tolerances of + .0002” and benefit from proprietary lapping and polishing techniques. Rod lenses are available from r.070 inches to r.650 inches and are regularly manufactured with tolerances of + .001 inches. They’re also subjected to proprietary lapping and polishing techniques.
