CVI Laser Acquires Technical Optics Limited

CVI Melles Griott Photonics (Irvine, CA) has sold Technical Optics Ltd. (TOL) to <%=company%> (Albuquerque, NM); financial terms were not disclosed.
Located on the Isle of Man, TOL manufactures laser optics and optical thin film coatings, including high damage threshold laser optics. CVI Melles Griott will keep TOL products in its product line and will retain worldwide sales representation for the company. In addition, CVI Melles Griott will now have sales representation for CVI products
"This acquisition will enable us to improve our participation in the European laser market," said CVI chairman Haggie Hahn. CVI will merge its existing UK operations into TOL to create a thin film coating facility in Europe. TOL will retain its production facility on the Isle of Man with enhanced capacity from CVI's UK-based operations.
