Beam-Profiling Camera

A 12-bit digital camera for laser beam profiling can characterize beams to 4096 gray levels, allowing it to quantitatively measure the low intensity wing portion of the laser beam

A 12-bit digital camera for laser beam profiling can characterize beams to 4096 gray levels, allowing it to quantitatively measure the low intensity wing portion of the laser beam. Typically this wing area contains a significant percentage of the laser beam's total energy, and can strongly affect the laser's performance. Standard 8-bit profiling systems are less able to detect, display, and measure these low intensity regions of the beam.

The digital interface feature is now standard on both pyroelectric and silicon versions of the Pyrocam, and is compatible with Spiricon's LBA-400 and 500PC. The interface is capable of transferring data up to 25 frames per second. Existing Pyrocams may be retrofitted with this interface.
