API Technologies Introduces Night Vision Device Test Set

API

Compact device supports mission safety and success in the field of operation

API Technologies Corp., a leading provider of high performance RF/microwave, power and security solutions for high-reliability applications, now offers a Night Vision Device (NVD) test set that helps military personnel determine the quality of function of standard Gen II and Gen III night vision devices.

Designed to test goggles, weapon sights, and drivers’ viewers, API’s NVD test set (#A3139775 / NSN 6625-01-323-9584 / TS-4348/UV) can be used in the field offering soldiers a “go” or “no-go” response to ensure that GEN II and GEN III night vision devices are working per specifications.

The NVD test set provides a Near Infrared (NIR), uniformly-illuminated target within the unit that indicates if the user’s night vision device is out of calibration or not performing accurately. A toggle switch allows users to select high and low light level conditions, while a second toggle switch allows users to choose between Gen II and Gen III night vision devices.

API’s NVD test set meets MIL-STD 810 requirements for shock and vibration as well as MIL-STD-461EMI/EMC requirements. The resolution target of the widely accepted 1951 USAF resolution test pattern conforms to MIL-STD-150A.

Weighing just 400 g, the easy-to-use NVD test set is powered by commercially available 9V batteries and has a lifespan of 10,000 MTBF (mean time between failures.) The NVD test set comes standard with a connector adapter, viewer adapter, resilient adapter, lens tissue, carrying bag, and shipping/storage case.
