ALST, (Advanced Laser Systems Technology)

Source: ALST (Advanced Laser Systems Technology)
Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) designs, develops, and manufactures lasers and laser rangefinding systems. As an active center of laser and electro-optical system development, Central Florida provided the ideal environment for the creation of ALST. The founders, drawing on their extensive previous experience with companies such as Martin Marietta, International Laser Systems, and Laser Photonics, established the company in July 1987. After its incorporation, ALST developed a new laser product for medical applications, and eventually sold its entire medical laser business to Surgical Laser Technologies in 1990. For the last seven years, ALST has focused on the production of laser rangefinders for various specialized applications, including military surveillance, fire-control systems, navigation, laser altimetry, and interplanetary space probes. The diversity of contracts in which ALST has participated distinguishes it from other companies in the laser industry.

ALST provides custom electro-optical systems design and analysis, as well as cost-effective fabrication. With extensive commercial and government contract experience, ALST offers high quality engineering expertise for a variety of requirements in the field of lasers and electro-optics. The revolutionary designs developed at ALST have surpassed all industry standards for efficiency, compact size, ruggedness, and low cost of manufacture. ALST's products are not designed to be used only in Land Systems. They are also installed on airborne (fixed wing planes, helicopters and UAVs) and naval platforms (coastal surveillance towers, vessels).

ALST manufactures both the ELRF series of eyesafe laser rangefinders and the non-eyesafe LRF series of Nd:YAG lasers. The ELRF series provides high performance rangefinding for long range surveillance, military fire control, laser altimetry, and navigation. ALST has supplied ELRFs for use in man portable fire control systems, Army ground vehicles, and aircraft sensor gimbals. The LRF series rangefinders provide maximum performance in environments where eye safety is not an issue. ALST has provided significant quantities of LRFs for US Marine UH1N helicopters.

Housed in a modern 5,000 square foot building in Northwest Orlando, ALST's facilities include clean rooms, burn-in chambers, and environmental stress screening equipment. This technology allows ALST to deliver products with exceptional long-term reliability to its customers. ALST has also developed and implemented a Quality Assurance Program in compliance with MIL-I-45208A for its manufacturing processes.
