Agilent Collaborates With Cypress Semiconductor On Optical Mouse Reference Design

Boeblingen, Germany -- Agilent Technologies introduced a reference design kit for high-resolution, LED-based optical mice aimed at the PC gaming market. The Agilent ADNK-3083 designer's kit gives mouse manufacturers the technical instructions and firmware needed to quickly implement a new corded optical-mouse design.

Agilent collaborated with Cypress Semiconductor to offer an optical mouse solution based on the Cypress CY7C63743-PXC microcontroller and the Agilent ADNS-3080, an LED-based optical mouse sensor for gaming mice.

"This is our fourth reference-design collaboration with Cypress," said Ngoh Kee Hane, vice president and general manager of the Navigation Products Division in Agilent's Semiconductor Products Group. "Our previous joint reference designs addressed the low-cost, wireless and performance desktop and notebook market segments. Our latest collaboration provides manufacturers with a cost-effective, easy-to-use platform for accelerated development of high-performance corded optical mice for PC gaming enthusiasts."

"We're pleased to once again join forces with Agilent to make available the industry's highest-performance optical mouse solution," said Matthew Branda, senior marketing manager for USB at Cypress. "Agilent's kit includes everything a mouse manufacturer needs to rapidly create a new class of higher-performance, LED-based optical mice for the PC gaming market."
