AGC EN-A1 Alkali Free Boro-Aluminosilicate Glass Now Available From Abrisa Technologies

Santa Paula, CA – Abrisa Technologies is pleased to announce that it now can supply Asahi Glass Corporation (AGC) EN-A1 Alkali Free Boro-Aluminosilicate glass for applications such as sensitive bio-photo detection, high throughput sensors, image sensor windows, biosensors, enhancement glass for thin displays, cover glass for micro arrays, and for low weight, reduced profile designs.

EN-A1 is ideal for these applications due to its high transmittance (400 – 2300 nm), its good chemical resistance, its coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE of 38 x 10-7), and its low fluorescence at genomic excitation wavelengths. EN-A1 is available in sheet sizes of up to 25” x 20” and can be ordered in standard thicknesses of 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7mm.

According to Lisa Tsufura, Product Manager, “At Abrisa Technologies, EN-A1 can be both custom fabricated to size with a wide array of features added including shaped edges, radii corners, notches and holes, as well as custom coated with AR, UV- IR filtering, transparent conductive ITO or oleo/hydrophobic options for a complete optical solution ” She further adds, “Abrisa Technologies offers additional value-added options of color matched screen printed graphics, applied films and tints, gasket application and bus bars, for ready to install Total Solutions”
