AeroMet Wins Lockheed Sterolithography Contract

Lockheed Martin Corp. has awarded AeroMet Corp. a series of evaluation contracts for laser-based stereolithography. During the contract period, AeroMet will demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of fabricating titanium components via laser-based rapid fabrication technology. Unlike other stereolithographic processes that involve forming solids in resins, the AeroMet system will produce three-dimensional metal shapes directly from software-based solid models without the use of molds or dies.
