Dazzler is based on an Acousto-Optic Programmable Dispersive Filter (AOPDF) that acts as a temporal filter of arbitrary shape (amplitude and phase) for ultrafast lasers. It consists of a small matchbox-sized enclosure that can easily be inserted in most optical setups. The control electronics can be installed away from the experiment. User-friendly software is pre-installed in a notebook computer, included in the supply.
Its applications include:
Programmable compensation of time dispersion in CPA (Chirped Pulse Amplification) laser chains
Correction of gain narrowing in laser amplifiers
Ultrafast laser pulse shaping
