Accumold announces Rick Brown's promotion to Optical Applications Development Engineer. In filling this newly created role his main priority is to champion all technical aspects of optical molding. He will assist with customers and work alongside the Accumold engineering team through design reviews, manufacturability reviews and quality inspections. Brown will be responsible for technical aspects of all optical projects across the company.

"Micro optics is a very important part of our business," says Roger Hargens, President and CEO of Accumold. "This very specialized area of molding requires a highly trained and specialized manager. Our business growth demands it and we're excited to have Rick lead this process." Brown joined Accumold in 2005 serving as Senior Sales Engineer with an emphasis on optics.

Brown has been building and producing optical molds since the late 70's for companies including Kodak and Polaroid. He has served as shop floor supervisor and tool room manager though out his career, and currently holds three patents for part and mold designs. Alongside noted optical engineers, Brown has worked to design and develop the first parallel array optic, a channel demux devices, diffractive optics, and small imaging optics with 3um concentricity requirements.
