Plug-And-Play Spectrometers

The USB2000 is a small-footprint, plug-and-play miniature fiber-optic spectrometer. The device plugs into the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port of any desktop or notebook PC, eliminating the need for separate analog-to-digital converters and interface cabling. Users can connect the spectrometer directly to a desktop PC without having to open the PC chassis or search for available IRQs and input/output ranges.

The spectrometer offers small size, and enhanced flexibility. It requires no external power supply and can be used to power light sources that connect to the spectrometer. Accessories are available for it, including an illuminated cuvette holder for 1-cm cuvettes, a test tube holder and an optical filter holder. All attach directly to the spectrometer to measure absorbance, reflectance, and emission.

The spectrometer is available for desktop or notebook PCs using Windows 98 or Windows 2000 operating systems. It comes with OOIBase32 Spectrometer Operating Software, which is automatically configured at start-up. The spectrometer can be configured with a coated IR array that expands the spectrometer range to 1.6µm.
