Improved Modeling of Grid Structures on Optics

Source: II-VI Optical Systems

Windows, domes, and other types of optics used in aerospace applications typically require some type of EMI (electromagnetic interference) shielding to protect their underlying sensors. The shielding and heating on these windows and domes is often provided by metallic grid layers. This white paper demonstrates the capability to model optical transmission, EMI attenuation, and diffraction effects of sub-mm grid structures on optics used in aerospace applications.
