2.8 MP HDR CMOS Sensor For Challenging Environments: 3U3MRXSAAC

Source: Canon USA Imaging Solutions Group

Canon’s new 3U3MRXSAAC is a 2.8 MP CMOS sensor equipped with an HDR drive function that achieves a wide 120 dB range at low noise levels. The sensor’s wide range results in a greater ability to extract usable information, even in situations where there is a substantial difference between the lightest and darkest areas of an image.

The 3U3MRXSAAC sensor features 1936 x 1456 pixels at a pixel size of 3.2 μm x 3.2 μm, a frame rate of 60 fps (30 fps during HDR drive operation), and a dynamic range of 75 dB. This sensor is equipped with functionality that lessens dark current from increased temperatures, making it able to maintain high image quality while operating in environments with temperatures ranging from -40°C to 105°C, or -40°F to 221°F. It is ideally suited for a variety of applications, including automotive, OEM, defense, machine vision, security, and intelligent traffic systems.
