Hamamatsu Expands Its Micro PMT Lineup With The Addition Of Red-Sensitive Detectors

Hamamatsu has added red-sensitive detectors to its ultracompact micro PMT lineup. These new additions have a wide spectral response range from 300 nm to 850 nm, with high quantum efficiency values in the red and near-infrared regions. The red-sensitive micro PMTs join the previously introduced UV/VIS micro PMTs with spectral sensitivity of 300-650 nm. Both types of micro PMTs are provided as assemblies and modules suitable for integration into portable or compact instruments in point-of-care testing, security applications, and environmental monitoring.

The H12400 series of micro PMT assemblies combines a micro PMT with a voltage divider circuit. The H12400-00-01 assembly is sensitive to 300-650 nm wavelengths, and the H12400-01-01 is sensitive to 300-850 nm. Both assemblies feature compact size, a photosensitive area of 3 x 1 mm, high gain, fast time response, and low dark current.

Four modules that contain a micro PMT, a voltage divider circuit, and a high voltage power supply circuit have been introduced. The H12402 and H12403 modules feature a micro PMT with 300-650 nm wavelength spectral response, while the H12402-01 and H12403-01 modules are sensitive from 300 nm to 850 nm. These easy-to-use modules can be operated with a low voltage supply of +4.5 to +5.5 V. In addition, they feature a photosensitive area of 3 x 1 mm, low dark current, high gain, and fast time response.
