Flexible Design Capabilities Through DIY Custom Lens Calibration

We have barely begun to uncover the potential for growth in thermal imaging technology and its integration into new products. In an effort to progress the adaptation of thermal imaging technologies by OEMs and design engineers, Leonardo DRS designed a line of thermal imaging modules that allows for greater flexibility in integration. Tamarisk® uncooled long-wave infrared (LWIR) cores have become premier infrared imaging components for many applications including security and surveillance, unmanned aerial and ground systems, and medical imaging devices. As a supplement to the inherent flexibility of its native mechanical design, Leonardo DRS has also developed the Tamarisk® Custom Lens Calibration (CLC) utility to allow for custom lens solutions to work seamlessly with Tamarisk® cores and optimize image performance in an embedded solution. This white paper demonstrates the benefits of using the CLC utility alongside Tamarisk® camera cores in three common integration scenarios.
