Broadband Metallic Coatings

Source: Acton Optics & Coatings

Acton Optics offers broadband VUV-UV Al+MgF2 coatings, durable broadband Al+SiO2 coatings, and protected and enhanced silver coatings for a variety of industrial and research-based applications.

Al+MgF2 Coatings

These coatings provide superior broadband VUV-UV performance. They offer superior reflectance at specified wavelengths and exhibit outstanding broadband performance through the VIS to NIR ranges. They’re ideal for applications involving DUV spectrophotometers, ellipsometers, and VUV/UV-based analytical instrumentation.

Al+SiO2 Coatings

Acton Optics’ Al+SiO2 optical coatings can withstand surface wiping with lens paper and exposure to humidity and moisture without sacrificing performance. Like the Al+MgF2 coatings, Al+SiO2 optical coatings can be used in applications involving DUV spectrophotometers, ellipsometers, and VUV/UV-based analytical instrumentation. Their stability and durability also make them an ideal solution for N2 laser applications.

Both of these optical coating types have been optimized for reflectance at specific VUV/UV wavelengths and can be applied to customer supplied material or as complete mirrors.

Durable, Protected, and Enhanced Silver Coatings

Acton’s silver coatings can provide >98% average reflectance over the 500-2000nm wavelength range. They can be applied to a variety of substrates, including diamond-turned aluminum. They’re well-suited for applications involving military optics, telescopes, spaceflight hardware, analytical instrumentation, and for use with ultra-fast Ti:Sapphire lasers.  They’re an ideal solution for achieving the highest possible reflectivity from 500nm to 2µ.
