Photron's IDP Express R2000 imaging system offers high speed, real time image processing. This imaging system can support one to two miniature high speed CMOS camera heads at full or reduced resolution and speed.

Experienced developers can take advantage of unique access to the high-speed open-ended architecture due to the R2000 imaging system featuring an onboard field-programmable gate array (FPGA).

This system allows for real time image processing in two configurations: without the FPGA and with an XILINX FPGA. Without the FPGA, the R2000 operates in a typical, high-speed image acquisition capacity, writing image data directly to the host computer's RAM. Operating with the XILINX FPGA, the R-2000-F enables real-time hardware-based pre-processing while recording the event.

The R2000 imaging system can operate at 2,000 FPS at full resolution, and 10,000 FPS at a reduced resolution.
