Gigabit Ethernet Cable Assemblies
Source: Newton's Fiberworks Inc.
For Gigabit Ethernet applications, most OEMs are using transceivers with either Duplex SC or MTRJ interfaces. Newton's offers cable assemblies using either connector. While Gigabit Ethernet typically uses 62.5/125u Multimode Fiber, there are applications which use 50/125u Multimode Fiber or Singlemode Fiber. Check the specifications on your equipment to be sure.
AMP's Solarum (TM) cabling system recommends using 50u fiber for fiber backbones in order to increase the bandwidth and distance limitations of 62.5/125u Multimode Fiber.
