High Power 1908nm Fiber-Coupled Modules Offer High Efficiency And Excellent Spectrum Characteristics For Pumping, Plastic Welding And Surgical Applications
Laser Operations LLC, manufacturer of the QPC Lasers product line, announced recently the release of high power fiber-coupled modules at 1908 nm with power up to 40W CW and on-chip Brightlock® wavelength stabilization for industrial, medical and defense applications.
"Our team has overcome two major limitations of conventional laser diodes in the 1900-2000nm wavelength range," commented Laurent Vaissie, SVP Marketing and Sales for Laser Operations LLC. "Our Brightlock® modules at 1908nm offer excellent spectral characteristics and high wall-plug efficiency, targeting a specific laser crystal and water peak absorption to enable multiple applications from resonant pumping of Ho:Yag and mid-IR generation to direct diode plastic welding and laser therapeutics".
Based on highly reliable InP material and on-chip grating Brightlock® technology, QPC Lasers' chips at 1908 nm reach 25% peak efficiency at room temperature with less than 2 nm linewidth and low wavelength sensitivity to temperature (0.2nm/ÂșC).
The high power diode lasers are available in fiber-coupled modules, with options including integrated aiming beam, fiber sensors, and photodiode options. Alternatively, they can be integrated into SUltra™, QPC Lasers' recently released compact turn-key solution. Various micro-channel cooled stack configurations are also available upon request for high power pumping applications.
