4D Technology Announces Leadership Change

Tucson, AZ James Millerd, PhD, has accepted the role of President for 4D Technology Corporation. Dr. Millerd, co-founder of 4D Technology Corporation, succeeds Dr. John Hayes, who is retiring but will remain on 4D's Board of Directors.
"James Millerd brings significant expertise in optical metrology and leadership to the role of President," said James Wyant, Chairman of the Board for 4D Technology Corporation. "Dr. Millerd has been a key decision-maker since 4D's inception, as well as a driving force in the development and commercialization of vibration-insensitive interferometry. The Board is highly enthusiastic about 4D's potential under Dr. Millerd's leadership."
"4D is poised for significant growth over the next several years," said Dr. Millerd. "We are developing new products that will advance the Company into new markets, as well as continuing our leadership in metrology for large optics. 4D has an excellent team, and world class products and technologies. Prior to his role with 4D Technology Corporation, Dr. Millerd was co-founder and President of 4D Vision Technology, Inc. in Irvine, CA. He has also held leadership and engineering positions with MetroLaser, Inc. and TRW's Space and Technology Group. Dr. Millerd's extensive experience in optical measurement and real-time interferometry has led to over 30 publications and numerous patents and awards. He received his BS in Physics and Electrical Engineering from California State University, Chico (1987) and received MS (1989) and PhD (1992) degrees from the University of Southern California in the Electrical Engineering Department.
