Specialized Coating Processes

The three coating techniques performed by DSI are designed to accommodate the varied and rigorous demands made on thin film coatings, and provide unique solutions, higher performance, increased volume, and more coating durability.

MicroDyn® Reactive Sputtering – short-throw reactive sputtering process that deposits metals, metal oxides, nitrides, and mixed materials with fixed or graded compositions, ITO, and semiconductor materials

IsoDyn™ Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPCVD) - thermally driven organo-metallic process that is configured to deposit multi-layers of silicon dioxide, tantalum oxide, and titanium dioxide to uniformly coat all surfaces with a high quality multi-layer optical coating

Evaporative Coating - advanced thin film designs are deposited in precision, cryo-pumped vacuum chambers using electron beam guns and resistance sources with the option of ion assist for creating complex infrared coatings

Test and Measurement Services

DSI offers expertise in every part of the product development process from engineering to prototyping to full-scale manufacturing. Their quality testing capabilities include measurements of in-house produced materials, and the independent verification of external coated and uncoated samples for surveillance, process analysis, and qualification testing.
